River City Marine is looking for a full-time, experienced mechanic to join our service team!
 
 
We are currently hiring an enthusiastic, full-time Marine Mechanic at our Abbotsford location to work on some of the top brands and manufacturers in both boats and engines!

Job Duties:
  • Carry out services and repairs on outboard and inboard motors in shop
  • Adjust, repair or replace mechanical or electrical system parts
  • Test and adjust repaired equipment for proper performance
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and service
  • Inspect and test engines to diagnose and isolate faults
  • Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor
  • Install electronics and accessories on new boats
Job Qualifications:
 
  • Certified Marine Technician preferred (while the perfect candidate would have marine mechanic experience and/or education, we are open to receiving resumes from all small engine, marine, or automotive mechanics)
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of marine engine and electrical auxiliary systems
  • Knowledge of boat steering systems
  • Forklift certification an asset
  • Exceptional customer service skills with ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with internal and external contacts
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to handle a high volume of work with a calm demeanor during peak periods; ability to multitask
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail 
  • Exceptional listening, time-management, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with an aptitude for working in a collegial and collaborative environment
  • Ability to walk, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces
